In short; yes!
Natural ‘mined’ diamonds truly are a miracle of nature, formed over hundreds of million years under extreme heat and pressure. They are mined as dirty looking rock (rough) that are then cut and polished into the precious stones we all know and love.
Lab-grown diamonds accelerate this process using technology. A miracle of science, we are able to replicate natures work and condense the process down to weeks. They are chemically and characteristically exactly the same as natural diamonds.
It is simply subject of choice. By selecting lab-grown diamonds you are selecting a product of science and will enjoy incredible value for money as we’ve not had to wait so long to mine them! If you prefer the fruits of mother nature, then opt for natural diamonds.
Either way, you can’t go wrong with diamonds!

You may have heard of the 4-C’s which are the grading standard used to measure the quality of a diamond. The 4-C’s include;
Carat – Simply the measure of the weight of a diamond. The other 3-C’s are more important in terms of quality
Clarity – Every diamond, whether mined or lab-grown contains a fingerprint of its growth. Diamonds where this is undetectable are graded as flawless. As a rule of thumb, smaller diamonds (<0.50ct) graded Si or above are clean to the eye. Larger stones tend to be clean to the eye above VS clarity. The higher the clarity, the ‘cleaner’ the diamond. Colour - Our diamonds are ‘rare white’ meaning they are graded between D-H colour. It is very difficult to grade colour without a comparison, so we use these to grade ours. As a rule a H-colour diamond will look completely white until held next to for example a D-colour. Learn more here
Cut - The most important grading standard as it covers the cut, polish & symmetry of a diamond all of which that give it it’s ‘sparkle’ or ‘fire’ -the thing we’re all looking for! Our diamonds are all hand selected to only have and excellent or very good cut, polish and symmetry. Learn more here

It is important to us that our supply chain adhere to the highest standards that we would expect in our own business. Our carefully selected suppliers are regularly audited to ensure the standards that they work to are the best that they can possibly be.
As certified members of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) our supply chain is also independently audited to ensure the highest standards in terms of both procurement of materials and human rights.
It is estimated that around 95% of the gold we use in our jewellery comes from recycled sources and we are working hard to make this 100% at the earliest possible point.

If you are choosing yellow or rose finishes you will be choosing gold.
If you are choosing a white finish, platinum tends to be the preferred choice for many due to the lack of need for plating, incredible durability, and strength. However, some prefer the idea of gold and 18ct white gold is still a great option.
If you are matching a wedding ring to an engagement ring we would always recommend selecting the same metal for both.

Gold commonly comes in three colours; ‘natural’ yellow, rose (which has a small amount of copper in it to give it a warm hue) and white (which is mixed with silver and palladium to give it a light colour then rhodium plated for brightness)
The very best gold for making jewellery is 18ct which carries a 750 grade (making it 75% pure) due to its workability and durability. The other common grade is 9ct which carries a 375 grade (making it 37.5% pure) and is a great budget alternative.

Platinum is the rarest precious metal we know, it is pure ‘white’ in colour and incredibly durable. It is also hypoallergenic so anyone can wear it. Our platinum is 950 jewellery grade making it 95% pure.

For non-stone set designs, we usually advise around 2-3 weeks. For stone-set designs we usually advise around 4-5 weeks due to the extra work.
However, when planning a wedding one of the most important things to arrange is your wedding rings, they’re the one thing you’ll keep and wear forever after all so, we advise selecting them and placing your order early on, around the time you confirm dates and venue.
